Statistical analysis was carried out in 2010 to identify whether attending the 'conquer exam anxiety' seminar helped university students to improve their exam performance.

Students were divided into two groups: those who took the seminar, and those who did not. For each student, the average exam mark for 2010 was divided into the average mark obtained by the same student in 2009, giving a simple percentage for every student.

The average score for students who took the seminar was 110%, whereas the average score for those who did not was 91%.

In other words, students who attended the seminar performed on average 19% BETTER than those who did not attend.

1. What makes this book different?

Plenty of books have been written about exam technique. While exam technique is undoubtedly important, most people underperform because they become overly anxious, not because they lack the ability to perform well. You cannot perform at your best unless you are in the right frame of mind. This book is unique in explaining in clear, everyday language why we feel anxious when we take an exam, what that anxiety does to us, and how we can significantly reduce it.

2. Will this book work for ME?

If you are somebody who feels nervous before an exam, and don't always perform to your best, then this book will unquestionably help you - provided you read and practise the techniques advocated in this book.

3. What are your qualifications to write this book?

In my own academic life I excelled at exams - not because I was much brighter than everyone else, but mainly because I had a much more confident and analytical approach to taking exams. In my professional life as a coach and university lecturer, I have developed these ideas and passed them on to others, building them into a comprehensive set of principles and exercises, proven to improve exam performance.

4. How long before my exam can I start to use this material?

You can start reading - and using - the information in this book at any time. Clearly, the more time you have before your exam, the more you can practise, and the more effective it's likely to be. However, even if you have only a few days until your exam, the material will help you to reduce your nerves and perform better.

5. In what format is the eBook written?

Conquer Exam Anxiety is provided as a PDF file, which can be read on any PC or Mac equipped with the free-to-download application Adobe Acrobat Reader.
